Fatherhood is a great feeling.....:)

There are many roles we play in our life span. Being a parent is the most important one. No matter what job you do or career you have, believe it or not, you are not irreplaceable. But as a father and a husband your role is unique.
I came to know that I am becoming father on 02/14/2009. It is not easy to tell about the feeling you get when you first hear the news. I was on so called Cloud 9. The moment you knew you are becoming a father and till you feel the baby with your hands, every day is a new experience and the eagerness keeps on growing. Being in US where we are free to know gender, we kept it in surprise till delivery day. But till delivery time, for every doctor visit we think of knowing the gender. But after reaching the doctors office we change our mind and do not ask for the gender. May be we will know the gender for 2nd series...ha ha ha. We are approaching the due date and every day dreaming about the upcoming little one.

And finally the day has arrived....October 13th 2009.Raji was in labor room and I was also there. After a struggle of 1hour our little one was in this world. She was so cute and tiny when I first had her in my hands. As a father I got chance to hold her before mom.... ;) and then celebrations started.... everyone in the labor room wishing us good luck and I got engaged in spreading the news to entire family and friends.... oh..man recollecting all those sweet memories takes me back to the labor room...:)

Now time to name her. For records her name is Devi Saranya. But traditionally we named her Devi Sesha Sai Saranya.

TheTwentyDollarTrick

Las Vegas Front Desk Tipping.... Just came across about this in one of the deal sites where there was deal related to a room in a Casino in Las Vegas. What is 20$ Trick? When you check in, you make a sandwich with your ID Card and Credit Card and put a $20 or more in between the ID Card and CC. So here your ID and CC are the breads and $20 is the meat/lettuce...;) making it a sandwich....ha ha ha.

Process is 'Ask politely the receptionist for any complimentary room upgrades....sometimes it works and sometimes it might not...but occasionally they will upgrade you to a suite....:)

surprisingly i have seen forums where people reported that Bellagio has 92% success rate, Hard rock Hotel 100%, Paris 80% etc...there are some casinos off the strip or far from the strip which has 100% success rate in trying this trick.

May be you can even try at car rentals too...ha ha ha.

So guys better luck next time if you are going to give it a try...:) Let me know your experience if you are trying it.

An Evening at Bellagio Casino

We went to Bellagio on Saturday evening to see the new spring decoration. So thought of taking a snap with Eiffle Tower background. On 24th April 201o around 6pm. It was crowded with so many people and surprisingly saw around 20 newly married couples and almost every one had a photo shoot with this eiffle tower background. As usual saw the water fountain and then went inside to see the spring decoration. It was nice. Bellagio changes decoration for every two months I guess, if not they go according to the occasion. Previous decorations I saw were for Fall season, Christmas, Chinese New Year. More photos of the current decoration can be seen at: http://picasaweb.google.com/deepakkotla/AnEveningAtBellagio?authkey=Gv1sRgCNfH9JHazb3AFA#

Excited to meet parents after 3 years.

Its been almost three years I came to US and didn't get chance to take holiday and visit our home back in India from July 2007. Planning to go India in November 2010 ... prior to that asked my parents to visit US so that they get chance to see USA and stay with us for 3 months. India vacation will any how be for 3 weeks only ..so we will not get enough time to spend with family. All set for parents to fly on 30th May from Hyderabad to Los Angeles. Now count down started to receive parents from LA Airport... :)

I hope they like their stay in US for 3 months..that way I can expect them to visit again US in the near future... :)
